Maximum admissible current for the DUT

Hi,

According to the documentation the maximum admissible current for the DUT in ampere mode is 1A.
What happens if the current goes higher than this ? I suppose that it is measured through an op-amp before going into the A/D pin of the microcontroller, so it might be only capped for the measurement but won't destroy the PPK 2 ? Is this correct ?
