Need Alternate for laird 451-00004 which can be used for the same purpose.

Currently we were looking for buying Laird 451-00004 dongle to be used  with PTS software. Since the device is not available with any of the distributor. we are approaching the technical team to guide us if any development board can be used as an alternate for the same.

Hi Santhosh, 

I'm afraid we might not be the best to answer the question. I would suggest to check with the testhouse or the BQA for the right substitution. 

But I think you won't be able to use our nRF52 DK or dongle to do the task. You may need something like this:

This PTS dongle supports only LE test cases, but up to v5.2

where there is pointer to 451-00004 Laird Connectivity Inc. | RF/IF and RFID | DigiKey

which is out of stock with all the distributor. Lead time is 40 weeks which is huge.

So can we use any alternative Dev board to load the firmware provided by BT Sig to get the work done till it becomes available.

This input has to be provided by technical team as the firmware provided by bt sig should compatible or any other firmware which is provided by Nordic can be loaded to achieve the same.

I believe like us there will be many who will be facing the same problem it will definitely help all those people.

Hi Santhosh, 
We have tried to use our nRF52840 Dongle as an alternative but it seems that the firmware in the PTS Firmware Upgrade tool doesn't work with our bootloader or our dongle, unfortunately. Most likely there is some hardware ID check or private/public key needed.
