The format of DFU.zip

Dear friends,

     I generated a DFU pakage used command "nrfutil pkg generate --hw-version 52 --application-version 3 --application  dimming_server_nrf52840_xxAA_s140_7.2.0.hex --sd-req 0x0100 --key-file private.key mesh-dfu17.zip", then i got a zip file named mesh-dfu17.zip.

     I uncompressed the file mesh-dfu17.zip, got three files, as below shows:

   a) I wonder the meaning of data in the dimming_server_nrf52840_xxAA_s140_7.2.0.dat, Could you give me some infos?

   b)When the serial DFU process started, which file will be first transmit?  dimming_server_nrf52840_xxAA_s140_7.2.0.bin or dimming_server_nrf52840_xxAA_s140_7.2.0.dat?

Hi Oplinux, 

The .dat file contain the init packet in binary format. You can find the definition of the content of the init packet here.

If you have a look inside the bootloader you can find how it is parse when received by the bootloader. 

2. When you do DFU update, the init packet (.dat) will be sent first then the actual image .bin file will be sent. See here
