log is not printed on J-Link RTT Viewer

Hi, 

I am using nRF5340 development board with J-Link connected to "TRACE" pins: SWDIO and SWDCLK.

In app project I have these settings in prj.conf file:

CONFIG_USE_SEGGER_RTT=y
CONFIG_RTT_CONSOLE=y
CONFIG_UART_CONSOLE=n

In program I use "printk" to print the logs. But on J-Link RTT Viewer v7.22b, some of the logs was lost. I received message like: --- 26 messages dropped ---.

What is the problem? and how can I solve it?

you could try to increase the RTT buffer dimension: SEGGER_RTT_CONFIG_BUFFER_SIZE_UP, In one of my project it is 512

also you should increase the NRF_LOG_BUFSIZE and NRF_LOG_STR_PUSH_BUFFER_SIZE

I am using nRF5340 project, we use zephyr, it seems we don't have skd_config.h any more?

You could search in your code where those definitions are located. I suppose that the names are the same

It seems like StefXinet is mixing the nRF5 SDK and the nRF Connect SDK (NCS). You will not find any sdk_config.h file in NCS.

To get rid of the "26 messages dropped" message increase the config CONFIG_LOG_BUFFER_SIZE in prj.conf. Check the file <sample>/<build folder>/zephyr/.config to see what it's set to by default.

hi, I added this line in prj.conf:

CONFIG_LOG_BUFFER_SIZE=4096

and ran cmake before I compile the project.

now there is no message like "messages dropped", but still some printk logs can not be printed on RTT viewer. What is the problem? what can I do?
