How to create project for u-blox EVK NINA-B406 module in Segger Embedded studio?

Hello,

I am new to development with Nordic board. I have evaluation board from u-blox which is EVK NINA-B406 and I have installed Segger Embedded Studio IDE for development.

I want to know how can I create the project in IDE for my evaluation board and there is no document I found for that.

Also, I have downloaded the nrf5 SDK file. But it only includes the examples for Nordic boards not for u-blox evaluation board.

Kindly guide me for development.

Hello, 

As the EVK NINA-B406 is based on nRF52833, I assume you will need to use target nRF52833 in SES. Please refer to u-Blox documentation on how to program their module, and to make sure that i.e. buttons, LEDS, etc. are connected correctly.

The nRF5 SDK focuses on nRF51 and nRF52 devices, and their development kits.

The new nRF Connect SDK, based on Zephyr RTOS, includes more direct support for 3rd party modules. You could have a look at the Getting Started chapter.

Thanks for reply.

I have referred the link that you shared, and installed nRF connect Desktop application. As per nRF Connect SDK link, I can open the sample project from that. But if I want to create the new project with that nRF Connect SDK, then how can I create it? Kindly guide me.

Do you any documentation for Zephyr RTOS for new project development?

Thanks for reply.

I have referred the "Open CPU software" section in NINA-B4 System Integration Manual from U-Blox and able to run LED blink example with nRF5 SDK on Evaluation board. Attaching file to help other developers.

As per that document, we have to do the Custom board settings for NINA-B406 board.

We can download the custom_board.h header file from below link.

In this file we can make pin configuration as per our requirement.
