  • Debugging is a bit more challenging when you can't turn off compiler optimization. Do you have nRF52 DK board? In that case, I would try the 'pca10040' configuration for debugging and see if you can find out what error APP_UART_FIFO_INIT is returning.

  • Hello,

I have followed your instruction now i am using nrf52832 DK with 17.0.0 SDK

so enabled Debug option and now i get error in debug terminal as follows

    <error> app: ERROR 8 [NRF_ERROR_INVALID_STATE] at D:\xxxxxxxxxxxx\yyyyyyyyyy\SDK\nRF5SDK17009d13099\nRF5_SDK_17.0.0_9d13099\components\libraries\log\src\nrf_log_backend_uart.c:67

    PC at: 0x0002673F

<error> app: End of error report

note: instead of x/y there was folder name

  • Ok thanks. So the problem is that the nRF log module and APP_UART_FIFO_INIT are both trying to initialize the same UART instance. To remove this conflict you have to disable the debug logging over UART by setting NRF_LOG_BACKEND_UART_ENABLED to '0' in sdk_config.

  • Hello,

thank you so much for response

As per your instruction i have set  NRF_LOG_BACKEND_UART_ENABLED  to 0

now in debug terminal i am getting error as follows

    <info> app_timer: RTC: initialized.

    <error> app: ERROR 4 [NRF_ERROR_NO_MEM] at D:\xxxxxxxxx\yyyyyyyyyy\SDK\nRF5SDK17009d13099\nRF5_SDK_17.0.0_9d13099\examples\ble_peripheral\aa--ble_app_template - uart\main.c:733

    PC at: 0x0003229B

<error> app: End of error report

note: in main i am initializing log also "log_init() "

  • Hello,

Glad to hear that it worked. The error you are getting now is raised from the APP_UART_COMMUNICATION_ERROR event inside your UART callback, which means the UART received invalid data (see Error conditions). You can comment the 'APP_ERROR_HANDLER(p_event->data.error_communication);' line if you want to ignore such errors.
