Can the old nRF52840 DK support LE Coded broadcasting by changing the chip ?

I have a DK of nRF52840, which is from 2016, and want to use it to test the LE Coded broadcast.

But it seems that 2016 DK does not support it, so I want to replace the chip with nRF52840 chip that can support it.

After changing the chip with 2019 version, I found that even if the ordinary 1M broadcast was set, it would not broadcast any more. When I switched back to the original chip again, it could work normally again.

So I want to ask, in addition to replacing the nRF52840 chip, do I need to change anything else? Or the 2016 DK itself does not support, I need to use a brand new DK.

It's been some time since I worked with the early preview DK, so not sure what that may affect this, so I suggest to order yourself a new nRF52840-DK, they cost about $49 I believe from our ditributors.
