Execute timeout in NRF Connect for desktop

Hi Nordic,

I've implemented an extension of the NRF DFU protocol using the "external-app" type. The transfer is stored in external flash, and can be approx 1MB in size. After the transfer takes place, the image is applied to an external MCU which takes quite a bit of time during the "execute" phase of the DFU mechanism.

NRF connect for desktop times out with the error shown after approx 15-20 seconds. Meanwhile, NRF connect for iOS allows this operation to extend well over 60 seconds.

Is it possible to configure or extend this timeout in NRF connect for desktop?

Hi Paul,

I created a feature request internally to extend the timeout, but I can't promise a fix for it anytime soon. Have you tried using the nRF Util command line tool for DFU as well? Maybe it doesn't have this issue with timing out.
