Receiving red LED on (indicating error) after powering on nPM1100-EK

Hi, 

In first attempt to plug power to micro USB port I got red red LED on (indicating some error). LED is on even without connected battery. Based on nPM1100 documentation section 6.2.8 "Charger error conditions" the only possible option is "Device internal error occurs when CHARGER is self-checking".

Is it possible to get more specific information about the error? And what are potential ways to solve it? 

There is no "getting started" videos with nPM1100-EK so it is hard to say if it is unusual or common behavior.

Which LED is on red, LED1, 2 or both?

Also, if I'm trying to connect battery (tried few batteries) it stays the same:

Hi, 

It looks like the EK is faulty since the LED is on without a battery connected. We suggest replacing the kit.

I have 2 kits and they both did this the first time I plugged them in. Is this really just that they are both broken?
