Location of the library and samples

Using the nRF Connect SDK 1.6.0 with the nRF Connect toolchain manager on Mac OS X the entire SDK with all the samples is installed in the /opt folder which is hidden. This makes searching for anything much more difficult than it needs to be. It would be far simpler and thus more intuitive if the installation was moved to either a folder under your home folder or better still for the installer to ask you where you would like to put it.

From the Toolchain Manager Getting Started:

"Click Settings in the navigation bar to specify where you want to install the nRF Connect SDK."

If you have access to the "Settings" tab in the Toolchain Manager, you should be able to change install directory from there.

Does this work on a mac?

After testing on a mac, it looks like it is not currently possible to change the installation path on a mac.

I will check with the developers if and when this will become possible.

You can use the Toolchain Manager to have multiple SDK versions at the same time with Mac.
