No response to programming a NRF91 Thingy

I have both a NRF9160DK which I can program and, Zephyr, blinky Serial modem etc, all work on the DK and I also have a nrf91 Thingy.

The Thingy won't respond to programming over the USB, it just times out.

I can program it using a j-Link PRO, and it seems to program the modem and the Serial modem image file and I can satisfactorily read it back.

I then power cycle the nrf91 thingy and reconnect the LTE link monitor, but I get no response to AT_CFUN?

I am I missing something with this process?

Thanks in advance

George

  • I have attached a screenshot of what happens when I try to program

I have powered the unit up with SW3 pressed, then I released SW3 before programming

  • Some further things. Using SES studio, I can build and download an application. using the nrf programming APP, I can se that the memory has programmed. If I try to update the modem firmware, I see it program 32 blocks, and it claims to verify, but when I read it back it just says 1 non zero block, but doesn't show green (or orange) programmed blocks on the screen. And DFU programming still doesn't work. If I do the exact same steps with my nrf9160DK, it connects to the cloud (I change the application to build for the ns boards of each). The issue wseems that I cannot program the modem firmware. I have tried erase all, and I have checked that I using the modem firmware for thingy, but I assume it is the same modem firmware for both boards.

    Thanks
