What Mesh SDK version are you using? Are you using an unmodified version of the example?
Can you tell me the steps you are doing to get this assert?
my board ls nrf52832,sortdevice ls s132_nrf52_7.2.0_softdevice
Can you use the addr2line tool to see which function is returning the assert? See this how you can do it.
Would also be helpful if you could answer the following questions:
Are you using an unmodified version of the example?
Also, are you using a DK?
