BLE Version

Would like to inquire what is the bLE version for Nordic Blinky example. How can we administer the fact that which BLE version does the code runs on. We are using Bluetooth 4.0 Nano USB Adapter to scan the blinky code. Will it be scannable kindly assist

Hi,

bLE version for Nordic Blinky example

 It depends on what version of the SoftDevice that is used. If you are using nRF5 SDK v17.0.2, that comes with SoftDevice 7.2.0, then that Softdevice version is Bluetooth v5.1 qualified.

 

Will it be scannable kindly assist

 Yes, you should be able to scan the device.

Thankyou for assisting.  I am able to scan the blinky code run on nrf52832 with sdk v17. But the ble_app_beacon code i am not able to sacn with Bluettooth nano usb adapter!

Can you pls tell that on basis of what we are able to say that which version of BLE we are using. Like what parameters in soft device in code relate to the ble version.

From the code, you can use sd_ble_version_get()

    ble_version_t ble_version;

    uint32_t err_code_returned = sd_ble_version_get(&ble_version);
    APP_ERROR_CHECK(err_code_returned);
    NRF_LOG_INFO("ble_version.version_number: %d", ble_version.version_number);

ble_version.version_number will return 10, so that means that is version v5.1
