nrf5340 dk do not advertise for ble examples

hi

my board nrf5340 do not run any ble example . it creates build and everything is good in softwre while running. but when i try to receive any signal from board of blutooth. it do not receive any from my baoard. i have run i beacon , light and hrm . but no one work. plus blinky project work very well... please help .. 

my sdk version is 1.6.1

Hey Rajni!

The nRF5340 has two cores, an app core and a network core. This makes flashing an application to it a bit more difficult, which you might notice when flashing an application that requires the radio. The blinky project for instance doesn't.

Using SES, you can flash the application you want to the appcore, and then flash the sample called "hci_rpmsg" to the netcore. You can also use "west", which might make it a bit simpler as it flashes both of the cores using one command.

To use west, open the terminal from the drop down menu, of the NCS version of your choice, in the Toolchain manager. Then change directory to the sample you want to use, and then run:

west build

west flash --recover

hi 

i have tried the same but when i try to debug hci_rpmsg  sample for netcore, after flashing ibeacon, it gives me this error and disconnect the jlink. what should i do now.. i m trying this on windows now

Could you choose output instead of tasks in the drop-down menu, and show me the error log? 

And could you try the second method using West as well? I think that is the easier option. That way you also don't have to deal with the 5340's approtect feature, which might be the cause of the issue you've run into now.

Seems that target connection is an issue. Could you try to run "nrfjprog -i" in a command line and tell me the output?

If you are looking for the file path to an example, you can for instance find Peripheral_uart at ncs/nrf/samples/bluetooth/peripheral_uart. If you are looking for the file path to a particular example you've opened in SES you can also find that out by opening its project folder using File --> Open Studio Folder --> Project Folder.

Okey, so it seems that it was connected when you ran it that final time. I assume you didn't turn it on the time before that?

Does the board show up as an option in the NCS Programmer too?

And did you try using west? I think that would be a good option for you.

Seems that there might be one underscore too many there. Try: "nrf5340dk_nrf5340_cpuapp".
