Upgrade firmware not possible via Nordic Connect Programmer or RSSI Viewer - nrfutil

Hi,

I purchased a BLE dongle with your 3rd party HolyIoT: mini Holyiot-nRF52840-USB-Dongle. It is recognised on Nordic Connect, but not Nordic Programmer (Err msg: DFU trigger interface found, chaning to bootloader. USB detach sent.) and Nordic RSSI Viewer (Err msg: Validating firmware for device. USB detach request sent.).

I tried using nrfutil. Create PKG: nrfutil pkg generate --application sniffer_nrf52840dongle_nrf52840_4.0.0.hex --hw-version 52 --application-version 2 --sd-req 0x009D sniffer_nrf52840dongle_nrf52840_4.0.0.zip
Execute DFU: nrfutil dfu usb-serial -pkg sniffer_nrf52840dongle_nrf52840_4.0.0.zip -p COM4 -b 115200
However the progress stays at 0% and nrfutil exists without message.

Any advice?

Hi PaulNL,

Only the official nRF52840 Dongle preprogrammed with Open USB bootloader can be directly used as BLE sniffer. We do not support 3rd-party nRF52840 Dongle as BLE sniffers, they may have different hardware and software designs for specific applications.
