Nrf51, JLinkARM.dll reported "-1", "An unknown error.".

Hi All, 

I've got a project with an nrf51802, i'm trying to connect to it with a jlink edu to no prevail.. 

I'm running macos catalina 10.15.7 (19H15), nrf command line tools and segger software. 

When i try to run nrfjprog --eraseall --log, i'm spammed by this error

ERROR: [SeggerBackend] - JLinkARM.dll reported "-1", "An unknown error.".

ERROR: [SeggerBackend] - JLinkARM.dll reported "-1", "An unknown error.".

The log shows this error on all calls, which indicates that the debugger isn't able to detect the external device at all.

 

Are you sure the external board is powered properly, and the connections between the nRF and the debugger is routed properly?

 

Have you tried connecting using "JLinkExe" (named J-Link Commander in windows) directly?
