Use nRF52820 for the MESH Lightness project

Hi, 

I am using  nRF52820on a customer board to run MESH Light project,  but I can not start the mesh stack, problem is:

it looks like due to flash limited, but according to Release Note of MESH 5.0, 52820 is supported, I can not find any Mesh example on 52820.

Please let me know, how can I move further?

Hey Brent!

It is true that there aren't many Mesh examples available for the 52820, and the flash/RAM size is the main reason for that. However, the mesh light example can run on it if you strip it down and optimize it for size. For more info about this, and how to do it see here. 

If you want to try more of the Mesh examples, I would suggest getting a board with the flash size to support more of them, such as a nRF52832dk. I wouldn't say that mesh is the main use case for the '52820.

Thanks for your reply.

Looks 52820 is not fit for my application, have to choose 52833.  in this application, the chip needs to run GATT Proxy,  CTL /HSL and Scene either.

I read the page before, that time for 52810 only, tried a 52810 board,very limited mesh application. 

Had thought 52820 is a cost down solution for general mesh nodes.

That sounds like a plan! 

Here is a good overview of and comparison between the different SoCs that support Bluetooth Mesh. I suggest that you take a look there, as well as on the description of the examples you would like to try, and see what SoCs they will be compatible with.
