nrfjprog --progam, -eraseall etc. executes with no errors, yet no changes are made to the microcontroller.

I'm trying to flash to a nRF9160 with nrfjprog. The hex file works fine, and can be flashed from other (windows) computers. But any change i'm trying to make with nrfjprog on my ubuntu computer executes with no errors, but no actual change is made. Has anyone encountered a similar problem before and can point me in the right direction?

Im running the newest version of both nrf-command-line-tools (10.14.0) and jlink (7.54) for linux 64 bit.
