I am using a U-BLOX NINA B302 (nrf52840) connected to a SEGGER J-LINK to program it!
Using the J-LINK flash i can program the NINA B302
But, on VISUAL STUDIO + nRF CONNECT i can't see the CONNECTED DEVICES to make the programming.
How can i solve that and make it find the SEGGER J-LINK ?
The extension supports any device, including standalone JLINK probes, that is supported by nrfjprog. You can check this by typing "nrfjprog -i" in command line. If your device is there is should be visible…
If I am correct, the nRF Connect extension currently only recognizes Nordic's nRF dev kits with J-Link OB IF and show their names. You can still use standalone J-Link/Trace devices for programming and debugging (as you have done), but the device name will not show as they are used for general purposes.Nordic's nRF dev kits come with their own Vendor IDs which makes the extension recognize the names, similar to their NRF Connect Programmer. Hope this clarifies your question.-Rajeev
Thank you so much!
You welcome !
"You can still use standalone J-Link/Trace devices for programming and debugging"
You mean that i if i want to debug, i have only to import the Debug Files with my tools and not with your VS CODE+NRF CONNECT + ZEPHYR ?
Although the device name will not show under the CONNECTED DEVICES panel, you can still use the programming and debugging features right from the VS Code. Nordic Team can shed more light on this in case I am missing something.
