ZigBee Certification for Commercial purposes

Hi. I am working on a product for industrial automation using nRF52840 and 52833 chips.

As described in the documentation, these SoCs are listed as ZigBee Compliant Platforms when used with the referenced SDK files.

My question here is:

Do I still need to certify the end-product with ZigBee if I use the existing stack from Zigbee 3.0 for nRF Connect SDK?

Hi

Yes, you will need to perform Zigbee End Product Certification for your end-products. What you can skip is the Zigbee Compliant Platform Certification, as that is taken care of in our stack. 

Even if the stack is certified, we can't guarantee that products developed using it follows the specifications, which is why the End product certification is necessary.

Assuming the price for certification is big for a small startup, I would like to ask a follow up question:

Is there a way to overcome certification when using the existing module, for example uBlox?

If not, is there a wireless communication supported by nRF chips that has the simplest certification requirements when used with reference design or pre-existing modules?
