NRF9160: eSIM support for India Service Provider

Hi,

I am receiving NRF9160 board. Please let me know if we need to change anything to support India Bands. Also it will be great if you can share Indian service provider details which are supporting eSIM and NRF9160.

Hi Dharshan, 

You may use SIMs from Reliance Jio, as well as from others like Airtel and Vodafone Idea. Please contact the service providers directly. 

Bands 3,5 and 8, which are available in India, are all supported by us, as according to the nRF9160-Certifications overview.

Hi Helsing,

Thanks for your response. I have received NRF9160-DK. I have inserted 4G enabled SIM of vodafone and on LTE Link Monitor, it shows searching everytime.

I have seen many posts and all tells that in India no SIM is supported as NB-IoT and LTE-CAT-M1 is not supported in India.

Can you guide me how I can set-up NRF9160 in India?

Darshan you need an NBIOT qualified SIM from any of the service providers first to kick start any workings thanks Gaurav

We are in Ahmedabad, Gujarat where NBIoT is also not deployed. Will NBIoT qualified SIM works for our location?
DO you have any preference for NBIoT SIM provider?

Hi Darshan , no sorry about this but you need to source the NBIOT SIM from your side. You need to contact the service providers and ask them
