Visual Studio no connected devices

Mac/M1 Big Sur

Visual Studio 1.60.2

 nrfjprog --com

Visual Studio does sees no connected devices.

I built 'hello world' without errors.  However, when I try to 'debug' it, it says 'no connected devices'.

What am I missing?

This does seem to be related to my problem, and it appears unresolved.  How can I get notifications when there are updates to that ticket?

You can turn on the reply notifications on the right side, under the case info.
