Bluetooth profiles

Hi

I am a newbie to the bluetooth technology. I want to ask some questions:

  1. How to apply a LLS(lost link service) profile to a bluetooth module?
  2. Can I buy the bluetooth module with the specific profiles build-in, or I have to do some programs after I get them?
  3. What tools(hardware/software) do I need to program my bluetooth modules?
  4. I imagine nRF51822 is the bluetooth module we are going to use. How could I make two of the nRF51822 modules paired up and work with the LLS(lost link service) profile? Any examples?

Please kindly give me an email or answer the questions here. Really appreciate.

  • With Bluetooth low energy all profile and service support is in the application and not in the stack. The Link-loss service is one of the example servicess that is included in the nRF51 SDK, and hence, it should be fairly easy to get started with.

However, the current softdevice is capable only of being a Peripheral, and not a Central. Take a look at this question for details on the different roles possible.
