nRF53 VS nRF52

Hi everybody,

I have developed a project where a central device with multilink, connected to the maximum peripheral as much as is possible (in my case 4 devices more).

-The work of the central is receive all the data and mannage connections/disconnections.

-The work of the peripheral is send 43 bytes every 100ms.

-The data flow must be on real time, with the lowest delay possible.

-All the data transfer is maded on coded_s8 and with tx_power at maximum.

I have 2 nrf5340dk and 2 nrf52840dk and I made this project hybrid, working all with all. I can't be aware about differences on throwput.

My next step is create my own PCB, and i neeed to take a decision about which chip choose for that.

If somebody can suggest me which could be better option or advantatges/disadvantatges between both devices i would apreciate a lot,

Hi,

I think it doesn't really matter which chip you choose. Might depend on what features you need (product summary).

Also I would advice you to reach out to your distributor or local nordic RSM to get lead times on chips, those can vary a bit, due to the high demand for wafer in the semi conductor industry these days.

Thanks for the response, is a difficult choice, nrf52840 is more simple and have more range, but on the other hand nrf53 have two processors, and that should mean be proper of the real time exchanging data.

I think I will delight on nrf52840 due to simplicity.
