How to start experimenting with nrf51822

I want to experiment with recording observations of the beacons with raspberry pi's.

1. Is there any precompiled firmware I can install on the nRF51822 smart beacon kit tag, that can be used to poll uuid, rssi and maybe temperature from the chip ?

2. Does the shipped tag come preinstalled with some software ?

I do not have the nRF51 development kit board.

it does come with :

The firmware documentation is available in a folder on your computer after you run the installer file. Here you can find information regarding hardware and SoftDevice version compatibility. The following files are included:

• Firmware documentation

• Firmware for nRF51822 Bluetooth Smart Beacon module

• Precompiled HEX files

• Source code

• Keil ARM project files

to be honest my gut says your much better off with this :
