Nrf51822 send System ID in Broadcast Advertising

Hi all,

I have a custom board with the Nrf51822 BLE chip and it works in broadcasting mode without connection only. Basically it sends the advertising data on an established periodic time.

Within my broadcasting Advertising data I have been able to implement the battery level value, but I want to add the unique System ID too (6 bytes).

Does anyone knows how / where I can retrieve it inside the code?

Hi Ole,

Thanks for the hint.

I used the "NRF_FICR->DEVICEADDR[0]" and "NRF_FICR->DEVICEADDR[1]" lines of code in order to retrieve the Device address and then I send it as part of the manufacturerSpecificData together with the company ID. (in the advdata_update routine of the ble_app_temp project)

Also, keep in mind that the device's address is sent over the air anyway, so this is more or less only a trick that should be used if you don't have direct access to the address on the Central platform you're working with.
