nRF52840 BLE collides with computer BT mouse and keyboard

Hi,

Our product has the nRF52840 with onboard BLE antenna.

As the BLE link is on and operated i.e. communicates with TWN pad the wireless Microsoft keyboard and mouse are barely functioning or throw characters on screen.

TWN pad works in BLE 4.2.

Distance between the product with TWN pad and BT dongle is about 1m.

Is this OK? What can be done?

Why do you think the mouse and keyboard is BT? It's most probably BLE as well. So the two links should not interfere with each other like like this. Even a BT link and BLE link will happily live together. So there's something else that causes this. Remove any USB3.0 devices, try an extension cable for the dongle etc.

Hi,

As the TWN pad or our product are disconnected the mouse and keyboard return to work normally.

There are about 40 channels on BLE, they probably both work on the same channel and both don't change it.

Can this happen?

BLE is using 37 channels when it's connected so there shouldn't be any collision on the same frequency that causes this. Do you have a dongle as the receiver for your pad? If so, what happens if you move it to another USB port or use a extension cable?
