How to use PPK2 logic port(Tom's)

Hi

     I use PCA10040DK,My connection description:

DK's External supply + to the PPK2 logic port VCC pin
DK's External supply - to the PPK2 logic port GND pin
DK's External supply VDD or GND to logic port D7 pin

But the level of D7 does not change.

  • Hi Helen

I do not believe you are able to power the nRF52 DK using the Logic port VCC and GND.
The Logic Port VCC and GND are for references for the logic lines.
Either power the nRF52 DK using an USB cable or by using the Power Profiler Kit 2 in Source Mode.

    Does this solve your issue?

  • Hi,

          My new connection description:

DK's External supply + to the PPK2 VOUT pin
DK's External supply - to the PPK2 GND pin
DK's   VDD or GND to logic port D7 pin

DK's VDD nRF to logic port VCC

DK's GND to logic port GND

D7 level changes according to Logic port D7 pin to DK's VDD or GND back and forth,

Is the link between DK and ppk2 correct?

  • Hi

For the Logic Port, this connection is working.
However, be careful of the following warning:
"Do not use the USB connector to power the DK during current measurements. Power the DK from a coin cell battery, or use an external power supply on the External Supply connector P21."

However, since you power using the External Supply connection, the PPK will measure the power consumption for both the debugger and the nRF52832.
If you want to measure the power consumption of the nRF52832, you need to connect the PPK2 VOUT pin to nRF current measurement nRF_VDD pin, as explained in the Source Mode documentation.
Also remember to cut the solder bridge for the nRF Current measurement.
