UART FRAMING ERROR when connect Thingy91 - Not able to enter MCUboot mode

Hello:

I had the Thingy91 (nrf9160) configured and working, but after a while, I tried to test it again, and I started seeing these errors:

- When using the LTE Link Monitor, it throws the UART FRAMING ERROR, and no further operation is possible,

Trying to update the firmware/modem, I can't make it enter in MCUboot mode, which I guess this error is related with the one above, as UART doesn't seems to work...

I'm not sure what might happen as it was working before. I can't recall but I think at some point I was using the debugger + Segger to download some tests. I don't have the debugger with me, so I can't try that again, but I'm wondering if I accidentally deleted the bootloader or any other software, being this the reason of my errors?

I would appreciate any help on this,

Regards;

Gus

  • Hi Gus

    Have you done what the LTE Link Monitor prompts you to do, to check that the baud rate is correct?

    I'm sorry, but if you have deleted the bootloader or necessary data on your Thingy:91 you will need a debugger in order to recover it, and I'd recommend to try that to make sure. In general the Thingy:91 by itself is not great for development exactly because you need a debugger to program it and potentially recover it.

    Best regards,

    Simon
