S120 on NRF51822 32K RAM chip

Hi,

I changed the chip from 16K RAM to 32K RAM. But seems the soft device report the below error when I use more then 16K address.

Error! Line: 0290, File: src\host_core.c Err code: BEEF

My test environment as below.

Softdevice version: s120_nrf51822_1.0.1_softdevice

GCC link file that related to RAM: RAM (rwx) : ORIGIN = 0x20002800, LENGTH = 0x2000

STACK_SIZE=0x800

How to resolve this problem?

s120 v1 is a bit old isn't it? There were issues with S110 when moving to 32kb chips originally, there were asserts until S110 was changed to allow it. It's possible that the old version of S120 is the same and has hard-coded expected memory limits in it.

Can you upgrade to S120 v2 and try?

Yes. See my previous comment. I have done the test and V2 didn't have this problem. Does Nordic have the solution for old version?

Sorry our posts crossed - you were commenting as I was replying.

I rather doubt that Nordic is going to build and release another version of S120 v1 to remove the asserts(), they might, but I can't see it myself.

Thanks! I think I need update the the stack. But I didn't want to update. Because the project is huge.
