Modem never connects to LTE

However, none of these have solved my issue. My Problem might be different from others.

So my software/firmware has been running perfectly fine for a while. What it basically does is take a picture with adafruit vc0706 every minute and send that picture to AWS through LTE divided into several packages. Until recently when I accidentally broke the vc0706 and replaced it with a new vc0706 (same model and version). I'm currently using an Icarus IoT board to control the camera and when booting it up after switching, it connected successfully, took a picture, waited a minute, and during the sending of the second image disconnected from MQTT and now it is not able to reconnect to LTE. I've tried this with 4 different Icarus IoT Boards now and they all experience the same faith.

Currently, I'm using the 1.3.1 modem firmware. I would also like to note that if allowed to run for a while the board eventually connects to LTE, but is not able to fetch any IP address and proceeds to disconnect again. I sadly do not have the error messages given, but I can try again and see what comes up. The error message is shown in the comments. I highly doubt the issue here is with the camera since the information it sends is still the same and has nothing to do with LTE, but I'm open to suggestions.

The time from boot till the connection is very close to exactly 20 min. Is there maybe some kind of setting that needs to be changed?

Hi,

 

It seems that you're running an older version of ncs, based on the zephyr boot banner print.

Could you try updating to a newer version? There's been plenty of bug fixes in ncs since v1.3.0.

I'm not able to use a newer version because that messes with the UART connection with the camera for some unknown reason (https://forums.adafruit.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=183229). But does the version matter though, given that it's been working perfectly fine before, the only difference is that it's a new camera but the same model and version, could it somehow interfere with the modem?

Are you by any chance using a iBasis SIM card? Note that this has a limit of 10 MByte.

The "15" and the "8" just before the bitmask is indicating that there's an error returned by the network (EMM/ESM cause codes).

8 = EPS services and non-EPS services not allowed

15 = No suitable cells in tracking area

 

Could be that you're out of data on your sim card.

The sim card I'm using is bought through gudbrandsdalen energi/mobil, currently, I've used 0.12/99GB this month. So it is not the data on the sim card. I have also tried switching the sim card with my own (both cards have pin disabled). For some reason though, my very first prototype is still working and running as it should, and that one uses a "twin" sim card. I even switched back and forth the cards to make sure that the sim was not the problem.
