Constant Tone Extension(CTE) standard for BLE direction finding

Hi, I have some question about CTE.

Recently, I heard that CTE should be appended to AUX_SYNC_IND. (for connectionless use)

Is that true?

If than,

  • Where can I find about this in Blutooth specification?
  • If I transmit CTE after other PDU, (e.g. ADV_EXT_IND) I can't get certificate? (I guess it's violation of specifications)

Thank you for your support. Slight smile

  • Hey Jason!

Recently, I heard that CTE should be appended to AUX_SYNC_IND. (for connectionless use)

Yes, look for "CTE is appended to AUX_SYNC_IND PDUs" in the spec.

Though for info on how direction finding should be implemented, I would rather recommend that you read our whitepaper on it.

    • If I transmit CTE after other PDU, (e.g. ADV_EXT_IND) I can't get certificate? (I guess it's violation of specifications)

Yes, if place CTE in another PDU then it would go against spec, and won't be certified.

    Best regards,
