nrf connect only installing toolchain

I've been evaluating the nordic SDK.  I was able to install 1.6.1, 1.7.0 numerous times.  I've been working with one of the individuals there at Nordic, and I wanted to do a fresh install of 1.7.0.  And when I try to install 1.7.0 (or any SDK) via Toolchain manager, ONLY the toolchain is installed.  Nothing else.

So I uninstalled CMake, Python, git, and maybe some other apps.  I was finally able to install 1.7.0 in it's entirety.  I could be wrong, but I'm thinking it has to do with the fact that an individual at Nordic was helping me and I had to git pull a SHA, and then call west update.  That could have messed with something.
