can you used PPI events with nRF Connect SDK?

I see there is an event manager but it looks very limited compared to the PPI capabilities in the standard SDK.

The event manager is (I belive) mostly for passing software events between software modules, while you are looking for hardware events between hardware peripheral modules. In that case you need to use nrfx drivers directly, like shown here:
