Modem can't connect LTE after 30 times on/off

Hi

I known that for NB IoT networks, a device can only be attached and separated 30 times in 1 hour. If the number exceeds the number of times, the modem will have to wait until the next hour to continues connecting.

But when I reboot the device, it can continue attaching the network immediately.

There are any differences between the on/off modem and power off the device.

Is there a way to reset the modem without rebooting it?

Occasionally, my device needs to communicate more than 30 times in 1 hour and I have many data stored in RAM, I don't want to reboot it.

Please help me, thanks

  • Hello Hoang,

Thanks for your query. I think you should keep the connection on instead of immediately disconnecting and turning off the modem. It seems like you have been disconnecting from the LTE network each time sending data. The frequent amount of doing this will block the modem connection. such as 'denial of service'. Therefore the device can hamper the network to be connected.

You can try this (keep the connection on) and let us know the result.

  • Because some reason, I had to turn off and turn on the modem constantly, Do you have any idea?
