UKCA Radio certification for nRF51822

Hi,

We are starting a process to certify our nR51822 based product for use in the UK, with accordance to new UK regulations

Has there already been a process to certify the nR51822 radio? if the radio module was "approved as standalone module" that should spare us some work.

This is what we were required to provide -

• Radio block diagram of each radio in the system,
• Frequency of all oscillators in the radio,
• The signal path and frequency shall be indicated at each block,
• The tuning range(s) and intermediate frequency(ies) shall be indicated at each block (e.g. LO, IF, XMIT Output, antenna)
• Operational description (relating to the block diagram of the radio) of all circuitry and devices provided for determining and stabilizing frequency, for suppression of spurious radiation, for limiting modulation, and for limiting power.
• Description the means provided for variation of power
Description the modulation scheme; including the type of modulation, and a description of the modulating signal (e.g. video, audio, or data). If applicable, including the maximum data rate, modulation index, and maximum transmit time during any 100 ms period. reference to any applicable interoperability standards or communication protocols.

If there was already approval to the nr51822 could we get a reference to it?

The block diagram and the RF module description in the manual available do not include information in the specificity level required as mentioned above, What extra material can we receive to meet those requirements?

Thanks!

  • Hi,

I see that there was a test report (according to ETSI EN 300 328 V1.8.1 (2012-06)) attached to my tickets, thanks!

    However

    1. We are now undergoing approval for UKCA and my question was referring specifically to a UKCA radio approval, do you happen to have that?

    2. I would like to have the information I specified above if you can share it with us (block diagram including frequencies of oscillators etc..), our regulatory team needs to submit it to the UKCA.

    Thanks!

    Ron
