Guide to nRF51822 revisions? (LPCOMP, 12K pulldown)

I'd like to use LPCOMP. I'd like to get rid of the 12K pulldown on SWDIO.

I can tell from PCN-082 that QFAA CA and C0, as well as QFAB AA and A0, will let me do that.

Since the 12K pulldown was a product anomaly, I've got to assume that any later revisions has that solved too. On Mouser, I can currently by QFAA R7 and QFAB R7. From the version code, it sounds like that is newer than CA or AA, but I am pretty sure that's not the case.

Is there a definitive list of all the nRF51822 revisions so I know if a feature I would like is present?

  • The PCN explains all the differences between all revisions of the nRF51822, but you seem to have read it the other way around: it is in fact CA/C0 that does not have the LPCOMP and the internal pull down. As you can see in the "Marking/shipping labes" section, new devices will have FA, GC or G0 markings for the QFN, 256 kB package.

As for making sure to get a second revision chip, I'd currently recommend you to get in touch with our sales manager for your area. If you don't have the needed contact information, please send me a private message.

  • I can't say this for sure, as the exact codes used are dependent on the distributor.

Normally, I'd say that QFAA means that they are 256 kB chips, and that R7 indicates that this is for ordering a reel. Hence, I don't think this says anything about the revision, so you should ask the distributor directly for details.
