Error when running BLE from nrfconnect

Hello, please help if you can.

Once connected. I am asked to program the board when trying to use BLE from nerf connect. 

However, I get the error: Error while setting up device E64320E5E18B: Timeout while waiting for device E64320E5E18B to be attached and enumerated

I have looked at previous queries but there doesn't seem to be a solution that has been viable for me.

Hello. My end goal currently is just to test my nrf52840 Dongle. I have been getting issues running examples online and this was one of the first things I tested - right out of the box. The same issue happens when trying other applications from nrf connect desktop.

Hey again Eeez!

Did the dongle enter bootloader mode when connected (if it did then it would flash red)? And where you asked to update the FW? If it didn't enter bootloader mode, then you can do it yourself by pressing the reset button on it. With the FW updated it should work with the nRF Connect for Desktop: BLE App.

Though for the purposes of getting familiar with the nRF52840 Dongle I would personally add a seventh step to that list:

7) Upload an example to the Dongle by compiling an example project using nRF Connect SDK and the Toolchain Manager app, or finding a precompiled pca10059 example in the nRF5 SDK.
