Impact of RSSI on connectivity

I read this post  https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/10668/rssi-without-connection

I want to know how large the RSSI value will affect the connection. Is there a range value? In my actual test, I found that - 70dBm ~ - 90dbm cannot be connected. Sometimes 0x3e will be reported when connected, and then I will disconnect immediately

  • The Resceived Signal Strength Indicator does not determine whether you can establish a connection or not. You can however use it as an indicator for your signal strength. If you're having difficulty establishing a connection with an RSSI of -70dBm then it's likely that you are experiencing RF interference. Also I suggest you create a new private ticket and ask for a HW review if your having range issues.

  • There are about 400 Bluetooth peripherals around us, and then turn on 100 peripherals. We only analyze the broadcast information of these 100 peripherals. If one of the 100 devices alarms, the central device will connect with the alarm device. When the alarm device is far away from the central device, the connection will have a problem (the disconnection reason is 0x3e)

How far? And is it line-of-sight?

It could be problem with the HW design or a timing issue. What are your clock configuration and have you had a proper HW review of the central and peripheral devices?

It could be an interference issue, what is the peripherals advertising interval?
