How does the nRF5340 RADIO behave when it experiences an address mismatch in RXIDLE state?

When the nRF5340 is in RXIDLE state and it receives a valid preamble but the Access Address does not match any of the configured logical addresses, does the RADIO automatically return to searching for preamble again? Or does the RADIO need to be disabled and re-enabled in order to detect a new packet with a correct address?

When the radio is in RXIDLE, the receiver isn't started so it will not do anything with incoming packets. You need to start the radio and put in in RX mode. 

In RX mode, the radio is searching for a address match. The preamble is only used for clock syncing so it doesn't actively searching for the preamble. When there's an address match, the radio will assume a valid packet and start to clock in the payload and validate the CRC.
