Tutorials[Meta]

Hi,

We're working on making some more tutorials, we have some thoughts on what we want to do, but we would really like your input. After all it's you, the user, who will benefit from this material.

What do you find unclear, difficult or would like a more thorough walk-through on?

Best regards,

Øyvind

  • I'd like some additional coverage of build tools (IDEs) for OS X.

There are already posts/blogs/tutorials that give links to resources for working with Eclipse, but I haven't seen a clear step-by-step guide that includes all the setup, project configuration/management, debugging setup, some "best practices" for file and build management, etc. Links to all the dependencies and step-by-step pictures would be nice too.

What I'd really like is something that brings the setup/maintenance of tools on OS X up to par with Keil, whether it be with Eclipse, CrossWorks, or Xcode. Eclipse seems to be the easiest target since it's free and already has many of the bits partially complete (partial support of Packs, integration with debugging, register viewer, etc.). I'd have loved a bash or python script that downloads all the dependencies and installs/configures them all at once.
