Hash does not Match Up

The SHA256 for the Windows nRFconnect software does not match up with what's provided. I have downloaded it 4 times and it returns the same hash.

  • Hey!

Is that Ubuntu like terminal just an emulator, or made to look like Ubuntu? Otherwise keep in mind that you downloaded an windows .exe file.

And could you explain the  ".1" seemingly added at the end of the file name?

    Best regards,

    Elfving

  • Howdy! Thanks for replying!

It's Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). It's a fully-functioning Linux system inside Windows. Super neat. I just used it as the last method to verify the hash. I also used PowerShell:

As for the extra 1, I had downloaded 3 or 4 copies at that point; was just renaming them. See attached screenshot for verification without name change

  • Bump? I need this software to conduct work. I don't feel comfortable running this without an explanation

  • Hey Harrison! Sorry about the delay, as well as this issue.

You are correct, some of the claimed hash values on the webpage for the 3.9.1 version are wrong. We are looking into it and eventually getting it fixed.

The correct SHA256 is fda7905f371eb94a0ada41cea9e0f104d4aabb7544d42896416a00eafa3c4ef6, which is what you got.

    Best regards,
