nRF52 BLE radio doesn't visible on custom board, RTT VIEWER not showing anything . any ideas?

Hi,

We made a custom board with nRF52 and it's BLE radio doesn't advertising, not visible on nRF connect APP. RTT viewer is not showing any thing.

We used WLCSP package for custom board.

I tried BLE Beacon App Template on nrf52840 DK works fine (Beacons and RTT Viewer shows logs). However exactly the same example doesn't work with our custom board ( not able see BLE Beacon using nrf connect App and RTT Viewer is not showing anything)

I am using sdk 17.2.

Any ideas where the problem can be?

    Hello,

    This sounds like a hardware issue.

    Do you have a PDF with the schematic and hardware lyaout in Gerber file format + NC drill files?

    The first thing I suspect is the 32 MHz crystal as it is needed for the radio to work. I can either be a faulty crystal, bad soldering or improper capacitive loading.

    The second thing is a faulty RF front end. The nRF52840 should still radiate with a faulty RF front end, but you would get extremely low range, have you tried placing your custom board directly next to the receiver to see if it picks up anything?

    Does the nRF52840 work normally in every other way except the radio?
