Unable to connect to nrf52840dk using nrf connect programmer

I installed the nrf connect 3.91 with programmer v2.0.1 and J-Link driver v6.88a. However, when I cant seem to see the dev kit on my windows 10. I tried holding the reset button and switching on the device but the bootloader isnt showing on the windows explorer as well. 

Greatly appreciate your help in connecting with the dev kit using the nrf programmer.

Instead, I see 2 unknown devices under the select device tab in the nrf Programmer. These devices remain even if I disconnect the dev kit.

are you able to see a JLink COM-Port in your Device Manager when powering up your dev kit?
