nRF5340 DK not detecting in Windows10

Hi,

I am completely new with the development kit nRF5340, I have plugged in the USB and turn it ON, the status after that as follows,

- LED5 is blinking continuesly

- LED1, 2, 3, 4 are blinking one by one (in periodic order)

- Power Source in VDD

- SW10 is set to OFF and SW6 is set to right

I have followed all the instruction based on the previous chat on tis topic, nRF5340 DK - Windows not detecting DK - Nordic Q&A - Nordic DevZone - Nordic DevZone (nordicsemi.com)

but not yet solved.

I appreciate greatly for you help.

I am looking into it. Have you tried a different USB port and/or USB cable btw? That is surprisingly often the culprit.

Many thanks for your response and for your time. Yes I have tried many ports (many times), and with different PCs and with different USB cables. But not detected.

Yes I have installed command line tool and added path in to the environmental variable. Tried the command 'nrfjprog -i', nothing happened,

I am sorry for the delayed response, I could not see any ids for serial numbers of all the debuggers connected to the computer. Is this problem with my PC (I mean some required serial drivers)? Thanks Elfving for your guidance.

Not that I know of. Having the command line tools should be enough. And you tried different PC's as well, so I would assume that the PC an be ruled out.

I meant, I have tried with the command as you mentioned before to get those serial numbers of all the debuggers connected to the computer (nrfjprog -i), So it was an empty response, is that indicating nothing detected on my pc?

Yeah there doesn't seem to be detected any external programmers/debuggers. Where you expecting more than the DK? Do you have a lot of other boards connected to the computer?

And speaking of that previous thread that you mentioned, did you also try the suggestions from this list?

Yes, I have tried all the procedures which mentioned in the list. No any other boards connected to this computer. The PC has two OS 1. Windows and 2. Ubuntu... sometime I have the issues with using Headphones and Video camera (Video not work with Windows and headphone not work with Ubuntu).

So when it comes to step 1, have you also tried turning it off and on with the switch a few times? Simply getting it to turn on by inserting the USB might make it easy to overlook that the Power switch might not be completely in the right position.

When it comes to step 2, did you try a somewhat shorter cable as well? If the cables are too long, there also might be a problem.

If you have installed NCS then you should have the correct drivers for the DK, but even without you should be able to open the DK as a flash drive.

How did step 4 work out for you?

A 30cm cable helped in my case.

nrfjprog -i shows something like a serial number. Now i go on...

So nrfjprog is detecting it, but Windows isn't giving you a MSD to work with? Or in what way are you experiencing this as an issue?

Hi Elfving,

sorry for the confusion.

At first i had the same problems as the initial poster.
I solved it by using a short cable. There where suggestions
to use other cables - but there was no posted solution. So
i posted "my" solution for other searchers.
I see two COM ports and a MSD now. Next i will try the samples...
But no longer in this thread.
