nRF52833-DK: Connect to an external antenna array

Hi there,

Recently, we used the nrf52833-DK to develope the direction finding.

We want to add an external antenna array we designed on the nrf52833-DK for AoA receiver or AoD transmitter.

From the tx/rx sample code in the nrf connect sdk, the switching pattern and related GPIOs can be set.

But actually those settings are just for controlling the switch on the antenna array.

We want to know how to connect the RF port between nrf52833-DK and our external antenna array.

We found there is a RF connector J1 but is for measuring RF signal by spectrum.

Can we also use this port to connect to our antenna board ?

If we can do this, how can we disconnect the external NFC and another on board antenna?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Jacki Hsu

Yes, you can use the J1 connector on the DK to connect to an antenna array. There's a description in the DK user guide for what solder bridges to cut/short in order to disable the onboard NFC antenna.
