9160's GPS must use a LNA between the GPS antenna and the nRF9160 module?

We use the nRF9160‘s GPS. We see that the 9160 Thingy use a GPS LNA between the 9160 module and the 9160 GPS antenna?

We want to know, whether we can do not use the GPS LNA?  If we do not use the GPS LNA, just connecting the GPS antenna to the 9160 module is ok?

If we do like this, do the 9160's GPS function or  positioning accuracy, or the time it takes to locate will be affected?

You should use an external LNA, as described in our product specification:

if you do not use an external LNA, we cannot guarantee performance as specified in the product specification.
