Our mission is prevention the increasing cases of missing persons. We wish to design a positioning device which can track the location of our users for their safety.
Following qualities are the ideal features for the device that we hope to have:
1. The ability for a follower to locate the user worldwide (including the high to the mountains and deep to the sea.)
2.  For the size of the device, the smaller, the better. (For example: Installing the device in a ring.)
3.   Users can control the signal to on/off.
Q1:
Bluetooth Direction finding
For AoA or AoD, which one can be more stable to support the signal in a extreme environment? (In the mountains, deep in the sea, or far between nations)
Q2
Tracking
For LTE-M or NB-IoT, which one can best fit our needs better?
Q3
Battery
ANT or PSM mode
-How does ANT function under wireless charging?
-Does PSM mode can function with its power storage for 10 years without charging?
Q4
Can the followers track the location of users without WiFi or internet?
Q5
Is it possible for your techniques to support features like recoding or even voice calling?
Q6.
To the device, how do we avoid the non-permitted use of people with bad intentions?
Q7
Is it harmful to the human body by wearing the device?
Q8
With all the features that we need, what’s the smallest size of the product you can make? And what the price would be?
Thank you for taking the time to read.
  • Hi

    Q1:
    Bluetooth Direction finding
For AoA or AoD, which one can be more stable to support the signal in a extreme environment? (In the mountains, deep in the sea, or far between nations)

Bluetooth has limited range. If you want to track devices over longer distances, have a look at our nRF9160, which can track devices using either GPS or Cell Location.

    Q2
    Tracking
For LTE-M or NB-IoT, which one can best fit our needs better?

From our blog on Field-testing how distance affects the behavior of LTE-M and NB-IoT:
"The bigger bandwidth of LTE-M results in higher throughput, while the smaller bandwidth of NB-IoT should result in better signal quality and range."
If you plan only to send data for tracking, this will be small amounts, and NB-IoT is probably best.

I should add that both LTE-M and NB-IoT require cellular coverage to work. Contact your local cellular provider to find which areas are covered.

    Battery
    ANT or PSM mode
-How does ANT function under wireless charging?
-Does PSM mode can function with its power storage for 10 years without charging?

See the nRF9160 Product specification and our Online Power Profiler for current consumption of the nRF9160.
The battery lifetime of your device will also depend on the size of your battery.
However, my guess is that it might be hard to achieve 10 years without charging with the space limitations of a ring.

    Q4
Can the followers track the location of users without WiFi or internet?

    No

    Q5
Is it possible for your techniques to support features like recoding or even voice calling?

It is possible to connect microphones to our products and record using either PDM or I2S.
We do not currently support voice calls.

    Q6.
To the device, how do we avoid the non-permitted use of people with bad intentions?

The field of security for IoT products are a big field, and we have many techniques to ensure that our devices are safe, such as encryption.
To answer this question in more specifics, I would need to know which attack vector you would like to protect against.

    Q7
Is it harmful to the human body by wearing the device?

Our products are not dangerous in proximity to the human body.

    Q8
With all the features that we need, what’s the smallest size of the product you can make? And what the price would be?

Your device will have to be a combination of many different products.
Its total size and price will vary depending on your design choices.
So I can not answer this, except to say thatthe size and price of our products can be foundat https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products.
