NRF52840-DK Power From 5V Power Supply

Hi,

I'm trying to power the chip on the DK from 5V power supply. I connected the USB connector J3, and switched SW9 to "USB Source". However, it seems that this is somehow powered from 1.8V ( this is by monitoring the output voltage from GPIO). I need to use both the programming USB (J2) and the 5V power source. Thanks in advance.

  • Hello Ehad!

I am a little bit confused as what you are trying to do and what the issue is. If you want to use the programming and debugging chip along with the main nRF52840 then you should connect the USB connector to J2 and set SW9 to VDD. You can power just the nRF using J3 however, if that is what you prefer.

I should also mention that due to the holidays you might have to expect both limited help and slower responses on DevZone.
