NRF52840-DK Power From 5V Power Supply

Hi,

I'm trying to power the chip on the DK from 5V power supply. I connected the USB connector J3, and switched SW9 to "USB Source". However, it seems that this is somehow powered from 1.8V ( this is by monitoring the output voltage from GPIO). I need to use both the programming USB (J2) and the 5V power source. Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks Elfving for your reply. Currently when VDD is selected, the nRF chip is powered from 3 or 3.3V. What I really want is to power it from 5V voltage. I have another SPI circuit which is powered using 5V and I need the nRF SPI GPIO output voltage to match the other SPI circuit.

I already connected the USB to the J3 connector and I used the setup I mentioned above, it doesnt seem to work. So I'm not sure if this is the way to power the chip from 5V using the DK. or if there is another way. Thanks
